Infant brain development

The brain, like every other organ in the human body, develops and grows at an astounding rate from the moment of conception Make connections Brain circuitry develops and grows through connecting cells with information links. The more information links, the more learning capacity. During the first three years, the creative, highly photographic,a sensitive brain is wide open to impressions of all kinds. “Every second, a massive information exchange is occurring in your body,” writes Dr. Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion. The brain quickly scans, catalogs and links all new information to the stored images where an association can be found.Connections (synapses) are formed at supersonic speed supplying and further fortifying wonder and curiosity in the mind of a child.

HOW THIS RESEARCH IMPACTS Associations are encouraged by feeding information to every sense possible, reintroducing the material periodically at each new stage of development, using many different types of accelerated teaching techniques. Teach both brains The brain is divided laterally into two hemispheres —and although they are designed to work together, each has a vastly unique personality and abilities
* Left brain- -Conscious awareness -Logical thought -Short-term memory -Slow input -Detail analysis -Linear, sequential, reason -Relies on physical senses (sight, sound, taste, (subtle frequencies) resonance with touch, smell) -Likes repetitive input like a sponge -Uses words, lists and numbers -Processes data one piece at a time -Practical -works well under stress

*Right brain -Subconscious awarenes -Abstract thought -Long-term memory -Fast input -Gestalt (whole picture) -Creative, imaginative -Relies on intuition -Soaks up information -Uses rhythm, shapes, picture images -Processes data all at once -Emotional -works well when fully relaxed Ambidexterity is the ability to use both the right and left hand equally well.

• RIGHT BRAIN EDUCATION IS AN ACCELERATION. By planting the seeds of math, music, spoken and written languages, science, art, cultures (and more!) early in life, your child’s mind will have rich subconscious library of information. Your child will naturally crave to learn more about the world around him, eagerly building his growing mental library. And when high-quality input is combined with joyful play, imaginative exploration and critical thinking activities, both hemispheres of the brain are stimulated, resulting in an incredible whole-brain acceleration.

• RIGHT BRAIN EDUCATION IS AN AWAKENING. This is because the right brain pathway opens with love.A right brain classroom is full of hugs and praise, smiles and cheer, giggles and deep sighs of relaxation. The more parents and teachers experience Right Brain Education for themselves through relaxation techniques and positive thinking, the more transformed they become. They tell us that we have changed their lives personally and professionally.(What an honor that is for us.) Children raised in a heart-based program become sensitive, wise, passionate, curious, loving and kind human beings. Now we know that when an ability that is linked to one hemisphere is developed or activated, the entire brain is activated and all areas of mental performance improve. Maximize the right brain window The outer cortex of the brain develops from right to left, providing a window of time where an infant is primarily functioning with the right hemisphere. • The left brain is not fully utilized until a child is between four and six years of age. • This means that... the right brain is w-i-d-e o-p-e-n for learning input between the ages of zero to three. After age three, children begin to actively shift to the logical left hemisphere of the brain. At this point, if the right hemisphere is left unchallenged or unused — or if a child is in a predominately left-brain learning environment — then the left hemisphere will dominate. The “bridging” effect The time when a child’s brain links to the left hemisphere is called “bridging.” You can tell that your child’s brain has “bridged” when he is speaking full sentences, using logic, beginning to read, write, count and understand time. Before “bridging” happens, anything is possible! Children in the right-brain mode know no limits. Incidentally, this holds true for brain-injured children and adults whose development has been delayed. We encourage parents to take heart, and see this as an extended learning opportunity!

Prenatal Communication

You don't need to wait until your baby is born to bond with them. Pregnancy can be the perfect time to start forming an attachment with your unborn child, which is very important for their development once your baby has actually arrived. From about 16 weeks babies can hear their mum’s voice, and by about 20 weeks they start to get to know other familiar voices too.Knowing unborn babies can hear you, gives you a great opportunity to begin communicating and building a bond with your baby even before they are born. We have known and understood that mothers' emotions reach the fetus through chemical signals, the fetus can listen, understand, also respond and make changes into itself. So it is important for us that from now on we make it a part of our life, by telling the baby our emotions and by communicating to the baby. This activity provides a safe and healthy environment for the baby to grow.Your unborn baby loves to hear the sound of your voice. It calms them and helps them to start to build the connection between you. They are not worried about what you say or how you sound.. Even whilst they are in the womb a baby can begin to build a bond with the people who love them. Talk about anything to them; what you are doing, how you are feeling, what you need from the shops! Sing favorite songs, nursery rhymes or something you’ve made up – you sound great to your baby. Read a magazine, a children’s book - anything at all. It will give you and your baby the chance to tune into each other and all the time your baby will be getting to know familiar and safe voices. Respond to your baby's kicks. Gently touch and rub your belly, or massage it. Talking, singing, and reading to your baby are great ways to connect and give you a chance to start some of the fun parts of being a parent. Say hi in the morning and good-night before you go to sleep, and chat about your day in between Encourage your partner to get involved – your baby can get to know their voice and will be able to recognize it when they arrive. Siblings will also really enjoy talking to the bump and sharing songs and stories with them. Benefits of prenatal communication - Helps to Stimulate Hearing in the Child Helps in Developing Oral Communication Helps Your Baby Get Familiar With You Helps to feel safe and secure in the womb. Helps Establish a Bond With the Baby
